“Students are holding it — because bathrooms aren’t safe”
Letter to the Editor: Our Kids Deserve Safe Schools
Students in Coon Rapids area schools are avoiding bathrooms—not out of shyness, but fear. Drug use, violence, and inappropriate behavior have made restrooms unsafe, forcing some kids to “hold it” all day. This is not normal and it’s not acceptable.
Safety should be the bare minimum in our schools, both inside the bathroom and the classroom. That’s why I’m supporting Tiffany Strabala for Anoka-Hennepin School Board, Area 6 (Coon Rapids and Southern Andover). She’s a substitute teacher, a parent, and a leader who puts safety and respect at the top of her agenda. As a parent myself, I will feel more confident sending my children to school each day knowing that Tiffany is working hard to help bring about change.
Let’s give our students and teachers the safe learning and instructing environment they deserve. Vote Tiffany Strabala on November 4th.
Sincerely,
Sarah Kaminski (Parent)

Letter to the Editor: 450 Documented Classroom Evacuations
Vote Strabala to restore common sense
Our kids in Anoka-Hennepin schools, during the 2024-2025 school year, experienced 450 documented classroom evacuations - according to Google's artificial intelligence - due to out-of-control student behavior. These evacuations involve removing other students from a classroom to regain control and manage the situation for the safety of everyone in the room. The term "evacuation" refers to taking students out of individual classrooms, not to a district-wide evacuation of a school building.
Has the school board done anything to reduce these significant losses in learning? No. Has the school board made it a policy to inform parents when these traumatic events happen in classrooms? No.
It is time for a change - for common sense. That is why I will be voting for Tiffany Strabala on Nov. 4 and encouraging you to rally to bring common sense back for our kids.

Strabala brings experience and common sense to schools:
Letter to the Editor: Our Kids Deserve Safe Schools
My family and I have lived in Coon Rapids and the Anoka-Hennepin School District for more than 30 years.
Three months ago, I met Tiffany Strabala at a candidate forum for the school board. I listened and asked questions — and she listened, too. She answered clearly. I was impressed by her past experience as a coach and parent.
I was pleased to hear of her current work as a substitute in our district schools and her frequent attendance at school board meetings. I am thrilled to support her for Area 6 of the Anoka-Hennepin School Board.
I believe that Tiffany Strabala’s past and current experiences, knowledge of issues, and her common-sense approach will move Anoka-Hennepin students toward academic success and ensure safety in our classrooms for all.
It is time to restore academic excellence to our schools.

The Anoka-Hennepin Parents Alliance (AHPA) had its School Board Candidate Forum, featuring their endorsed candidates for this fall's election: Matt Audette, Lorraine Coan, and Tiffany Strabala. Each candidate focused on academic excellence, school safety, and parental rights. They discussed budget challenges, the need for better classroom discipline, and concerns about cellphone distractions. They had good ideas for improvements... If you live in Coon Rapids or Southern Andover, then you are in the Area 6 communities eligible to vote for the "Common Sense Candidate," Tiffany Strabala. (The other two candidates are running in nearby communities;) here is the AHSB map:
